1996 Cricket World Cup winning team and the Sri Lanka Cricket Foundation supports Patients with cancer through Indira cancer Trust. It was indeed a historic moment when the team who brought much glory to Sri Lanka stepped in to support Suwa Arana - Sri lanka’s first paediatric palliative care centre for children with cancer. The team donated bats and T shirts signed by them to be used for global fundraising efforts through auction.

Additionally they will support Indira Cancer Trust in a variety of programmes supporting patients and families with cancer including promotion of “Pink Wednesday “ for breast cancer awareness.

The By Your Side Gala Ball on the 25th of June 2022 will be hosted by Lak Saviya Foundation (LSF) Australia. The objective of the event is to raise funds to partly fund the construction of Suwa Arana for Indira Cancer Trust (ICT) based in Colombo Sri Lanka. Suwa Arana will build and operate Sri Lanka’s first care centre for paediatric cancer patients and their families in Sri Lanka to provide special end of life care for children, where the whole family can be together during this exceedingly difficult time.
