Certain chemotherapy drugs and radiation therapy damage hair follicles, resulting in patients losing their hair. Wigs can be an easy and affordable way to take control of appearance and restore self-image and confidence during cancer treatments.
At The Indira Cancer Trust, we support patients to bring their life back to normalcy and be able to get back to their day-to-day life and interactions by donating a natural hair wig. You may reach out to us through our dedicated cancer support helpline get the required details and drop into Indira Cancer Trust and pick up a wig.
A natural hair wig will be given free to help you get back to your life and face the world with a smile. You can also request a wig from your oncology nurse at the hospital you are receiving treatment. Indira Cancer Trust together with Hemas - Kumarika and Lions Club Aluthgama, Bentota and Galkissa have launched “Sonduru Diriyawanthi” a wig donation service around the country so that you can obtain a wig as soon as you lose your hair. The following hospitals are available for you to receive your wig from without the hassle of travelling to Colombo.
